Do you have hot running water?

Yes, but we have separate faucets for hot and cold water.

How about central heating, air conditioning and proper insulation?

We do not have "proper" insulation in most houses, though some of the newer and more expensive ones do have it.

Air conditioning is not necessary in most places in NZ as it never gets REALLY hot. The same is true of central heating, because, aside from some places down south, it never gets truly cold either.

Basically, the national view when it's cold is "Put on another jersey" and "Take it off" when it gets warm again.
